The second Polar Between Two Seas fair, in Gironde, at Fargues St Hilaire, will be held on 12 May 2018
Adventures cut you off… the breath!
As often at the start of great adventures, it’s first and foremost a crazy idea: that of a handful of big big dreamers, nevertheless very stubborn.
The association “Les Psychopathes du Polar” made its dreams come true with a first crime fair in May 2017, with prestigious guests and a more than delighted audience.
If they could have invited Agatha Christie, they would have done it…
Pépita Sonatine and Marie-Noëlle Ramon have been friends for a long time : the first one, Pépita is a bookseller in Mont de Marsan (she floods her loved ones with messages of love and freedom, messages full of fantasy and a crazy joie de vivre); the second, of Fargues Saint Hilaire Entre Deux Mers, Marie-No mainly devotes herself to running from book fair to book fair, make art mosaic and read the rest of the time.

About two years ago, an idea germinated and took shape from one mind to another, this idea is, from one thing to another, transformed into reality…
From a simple remark emanating from Marin Ledun (crime writer, Isabelle Adjani fell for her book “Les Visages crushed” and adapted for television entitled “Carole Matthieu” which deals with moral harassment at work), suggesting that they create a law association 1901, the association of Polar Psychopaths was born, the 15 January 2016.
In 2017, only a handful of people believed in this project : bring together crime fiction writers in a brand new room in Fargues Saint Hilaire (Between two seas), in Gironde, allow readers to meet them and organize conferences, dedications, held a challenge…
These two acolytes, supported by Natalie Roca (deputy mayor, responsible for culture and communication) was able to inject dynamism into the town hall of Fargues, the motivation and faith that animated them. Yes, this fair has taken place.

This is the 13 May that be held salon 2017 improbable, but very real.
Around thirty authors were present and the guest of honor was : Franck Thilliez.
Names like Laurent Scalese, René Manzor, Niko Takian, Olivier Norek, Barbara Abel, Nicolas Feuz, Claude Cancès, Danielle Thiéry… appeared on the poster. And the list has continued to grow. About ten, the living room is taken to invite around thirty authors of black novels, police, thrillers… of which twenty known to the public.
The adventure continues and grows stronger
The association is independent and the two dynamic accomplices of the departure were organized and, to the sweat of their brow, taking the necessary time and energy, have come to an end: a splendid poster whose entry was free thanks to grants from the town hall (only 2000 inhabitants), of the departmental council and thanks to the efforts of different partners.
This version 2017 proved that there was indeed a demand for the readers of crime fiction and that the combined energies of Pépita and Marie-Noëlle could not stop there.
For proof too, the praise received later, participants' encouragement and satisfaction with the success of this version 2017: so the great adventure must continue…

Today, the Polar Psychopaths have the pleasure and honor of presenting their final poster : 33 authors freed themselves and reserved their Saturday 12 May 2018 in order to meet their audience, at Fargues Saint Hilaire.
