Narrative practice

She’s a thin but determined little woman, passionate about what she says and what she does. "I trained in narrative practice, which I use a lot in my job ; for narrative practice, what we believe to be the reality is that a story and the same reality can be described by other stories just as true and that we can choose if they help us to live better. Indeed: these are the stories that influence us and they can be very important in our lives, and they can be very helpful in life, as they can be very blocking.

for example, when a child is said to be shy, it’s a "blocking" story that may limit him all his life ... This little little one is likely to be assimilated to what is said about him, which is only a story.

And we can tell another story ; if we tell him : Today you spoke before the class, Wow, you are able to do it ! The narrative approach "heals the stories" ... and according to the stories that are told, life is more or less beautiful.

One to three years, the great adventure of autonomy

That of the book " 1 at 3 years, the great adventure of autonomy »Is a series of meetings. Françoise remembers and tells : «Pascale Pavy (Psychomotor therapist for over 25 years and early childhood trainer) author at Mango de Fleurus, called me and told me that Les Editions was looking for someone to write about children under the age of three.

Are you interested ?’Although never having written any books, I said to myself why not ... and I got in touch with the editor, Julie Cot. I kept a diary when I was a young doctor, but I didn’t know what she wanted from me.

2 months later, when I went to see her in her office, she showed me a big thick book called : " the 0-1 years "appeared at home (by Sandrine Dury)

That's when I realized that she expected a real book from me, a large, who looked huge to me !

Therefore, I started writing in a rather scientific form. And when she got the start, she was satisfied but added that it was not a question of addressing my colleagues, but rather to parents…

My husband said ....

I resumed my writing and I told myself that I had to do it differently. This is where Joseph, my husband, he told me : you always have stories in your pediatrician's office, tell us about your daily life, tell the stories you hear !

So I started from the stories of my little patients… ”

And there, it’s the adventure of writing and collecting testimonies that begins. Pediatrician Françoise Ceccato drew from her memories, she went to meet parents, early childhood professionals, general practitioners, specialized doctors, pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, psychologists, educators, she had contacts with internet users passionate about the subject ; short in addition to his knowledge and experience, she was inspired directly from the field, the experience and the feelings of all those who are linked to toddlers.

The idea, it is to bring knowledge to parents to allow them then to adapt either their education or the prevention or the mode of health that they want to choose for their child. I provide explanations No to say: ‘There is only where it is necessary’… I wanted to bring keys to the parents so that he, the parent, can know what to do with her child, either in a difficult situation, either daily.

I also based myself on positive psychology, a way of doing things different from before.

We live in another world than that of our grandparents, even our parents

The times have changed : the keys given in this book to parents are there to help children enter fully into this world which is not the world of yesterday but the world of today and that of tomorrow.

I also drew a parallel between the evolution of the child and the evolution of Humanity : this is the reason why Pascal Picq, the famous paleontologist, prefaced the book. Reading it, I realized that since 70 or 200.000 years (we don't really know yet), our children reproduce in a few months what Man has taken millions of years to become Homo Sapiens .

Our children have made a huge shortcut compared to the Sapiens, with the acquisition of the standing station, of language and sociability. In his latest Harari book, « Sapiens », the author talks about our ability to have fiction in mind, I want to say "fictional", and this ability is unique to Sapiens.

The next book the author-pediatrician is writing is going to be called « 3 at 7 years, nose in the stars ! "And will address, like the first, to parents. The idea is to show how a child spends three to seven years in his body,

at the level of his psyche, at the level of his vision of the world.

And there too, i need the kids first, parents and professionals…
