The world is full of creative people, who have heart at work and whose passion takes on a devouring dimension ; here is an example, made in les Vosges

Karine has itchy fingers : needles and threads have always been part of his daily life ... From an early age, she made her dolls clothes with a needle and thread. Later, around ten, his mother gave him his sewing machine and taught him some basics so that he could make his own clothes. After a BTS in the clothing industry, she worked in different companies.

"As soon as I have ten minutes, I'm going to my lair, my workshop : a room that I reserved for myself in my house : I store my mannequin there, my coils (my dad made me clever systems to hang them), I store my stock of fabric and my supplies there, my sewing machine, my creations…

Auto business, a good compromise

In 2003, she founds her self winter accessories business: chokers, scarves, berets, hats… and Karine Tobody offers a wide variety of creations, all exclusive pieces, crafted with art, patience.

"I want each model to be truly unique, let the person who chooses it know that he is wearing a unique piece, that he really feels like he's wearing something different. I choose my fabrics everywhere, during my travels. I'm like a fish in the water when I'm in a fabric shop, each of them allows my imagination to free itself. I would spend whole days there, I'm looking for the right associations between colors and materials. »

From now on, online sales

Today, her husband, who has already participated actively by selling on the Christmas market of Plombières les Bains, one of the most famous in the Vosges, regularly updates their online sales site : "Although we love to be in contact with people, we would like to avoid spending too much time outdoors as we have a lot of constraints, family among others, also professional. Therefore, The Internet seemed to be very effective in reaching a maximum of people, but especially to make known Tobody and that people who already know us, find us easily. »Scarves, snoods, checks, bonnets… products sent worldwide: in Australia, in the USA, in Wales…

Enthusiastic and modest, Karine thrives in “his art”. She always sews almost all of her clothes, she once dressed her babies and little children, more, today she really wants to be able to sew, imagine and create, simply, for her, and for others.

And still new creations appeared this winter: the ponchos. They caused a sensation!
