Amateur improvisation shows on Cenon Bordeaux

An improvisation troupe that deposits and wants it… unpretentious !

It's a challenge, personal limits that we learn to push : "Would I be able to come up with an idea, funny, original or full of emotion, without having prepared anything? ».

Nine… They are nine to have signed up for this bet proposed by Laurent Subberoque from the Alizé theater in September 2016. Also nine months that they train every Monday evening, during two hours, after work, despite the tiredness of the day.

They are stamping… They are more or less fit every week. They want to improve, give the best, for them, for the others. Finally, two shows are scheduled 4 and 10 June to show what they started to learn: improviser.

For some people, these two representations are a finality, for others it does not matter much ...

Definition to improvise : « do something without having prepared it ... »

For david, 37 years, these workshops meant "having a present presence, that is to say that at all times, I would like to be aware around me. There is work before you succeed, but the group is great! I find it very interesting this idea of having fun with the group. The more we advance, the more we realize the work done and each month, we have progressed. ” Regarding the two shows of 4 and 10 June 2017, he declares : "I will probably apprehend, the day of the show, especially if there are people I know, more, for me, it is not an end in itself at all. »

Laurent, 43 years, the coach, expresses himself very modestly : " This year, It’s the first time I’ve had a group in a long season. Objective 1 was to weld it, to get to know each other, to listen to each other. The goal was therefore to trust others and above all to trust each other, taking as much pleasure as possible, without forcing yourself obviously because it is not possible. I wanted everyone to go beyond their own judgment, everyone say that what we don't think is possible, finally, ballast. All my art, in inverted commas, was to go get those things.”

The trainer is also training…

“Personally, I tried to train myself by training others,” adds Laurent, “I wanted to see what I was capable of over the long term. The goal was to share my knowledge, that I usually put in place in the short term, to apply them to this group every year. I am not satisfied with myself, obviously; but from the group, Yes. It was faster than I thought : the group in question is made up of several people, some arrivals along the way, and that, I apprehended him: newcomers had to find their place. The operating mode of the group necessarily changed but they should not disturb it too much. I'm pretty happy with it ... "

Tristan, 33 years, has another approach to the improvisation workshop : "I wanted to redo the theater since I touched it a bit when I was young, in a more classic way and I had already done a little improvisation. The concept had pleased me. I didn't have any special expectations when I signed up for this course, if not to have fun. I was quickly well integrated by the way. I’m now looking forward to the public even if it’s a source of jitters, but I find it interesting to see if we are going to make people laugh. For me, it is a goal. »

A clown at home

Rachel, 43 years old discovered the theater through his daughter who was already registered at the Alizé theater : "I often clown at home and my husband pushed me to register, convincing myself that it was for me. I hesitated a long time and I was a little apprehensive ... I also really wanted to meet new people and get out of the shackles work / home and there, it's going very very well, then I am satisfied. I'm usually a little bit reserved but I love humor and I realized that there was nothing to lose, nothing to gain. It was just about having fun. During the workshops, I can express myself freely and I want the group to flourish and our show to be successful.”

Hervé, 47 years, this is not his first experience : "This group is really benevolent, pretty nice and he has lots of good ideas. It's a moment for me to relax, conducive to lots of madness. I find that Laurent (the coach) prepared us well and I have no particular stress. On the contrary, I can't wait to see the adrenaline rush before the show ... "

Improvising is also creating and imagining…

For Valérie, 49 years, it's the desire to get rid of all the prejudices that others may have: “Paradoxically, I wanted to confront myself with the gaze of others in order to be able to disregard them. Within the group, at my arrival, it was a complete surprise and a real pleasure to realize how benevolent everyone was. We can give free rein to anything, we learn to be afraid of nothing. Not simple! But at the same time, it’s a kind of contest to which will bring the most elements so that the group is as comfortable as possible and that each one gives the best of him. Listening is very important and above all you have to create, imagine, invent, things that we don't always have the opportunity to do in everyday life… And we laugh! On rit! It feels so good…”

Béatrice, as for her, knew improvisation as a spectator: “I found myself in the group by challenge. I am of a slightly crazy nature, but too shy to really let me go. So, I thought it might be time to get started and dare to make me happy. The stress m & rsquo; anxiety and I am sometimes a little static, but share these two hours weekly with this group, so kind, boosts me and pushes me to overcome my fears, even if I fear that my exploits are not at the top!”

As for Karine, 45 years, she had discovered the theater in summer 2016, during an internship : "I had the opportunity to taste a week of improvisation… I liked it. Chance doing things right, an improvisation group has opened up on Cenon, very close to my home, by the Alizé theater. It started in September 2016, so I thought it was for me. And I don't regret…

The group is very nice, I feel confident, it is important ! And what are we laughing at?! I manage to forget everything for two hours ... L & rsquo; impro, it's a bit of a challenge for me… Go where it scares and what happiness when you succeed… The show is part of the challenge : tell me “I did it, I dared”. But this is not an end in itself… rather a means.”

The time is therefore to present this work, early June, in the form of a cabaret: a series of short, long exercises 1 at 5 about minutes. Which may seem short for some but very long for others… Notice to amateurs!
