The Tressois chess board held an unauthorized tournament, La Fontaine room on Saturday 4 June 2016.
In an almost religious atmosphere during matches and very relaxed during interludes, 34 participants found themselves in front of the chess boards, including seven guests from Gironde clubs, and four people not affiliated with a club (parents, friends…) in addition to club members.
The club welcomed the inter-generational mix that the meetings have caused: half of the participants are young people and the other half are seniors. At the end of the seven rounds of two times twenty minutes, he is a guest, Loïc FOURNIER, who won the tournament (seven games won).
A great success as a tournament, which will allow the Chessboard Tressois to be able to realize in 2017, an approved tournament with even more participants.
The day ended with its General Assembly which resulted in the election of Frédéric CALVO as president of the association. He replaces Max Sanguine, who, after thirteen years at the head of the club as president, has resigned, to give new decisions a facelift. An emotionally charged handover ... Max nevertheless retains the function of Honorary President.
Other changes in the office : at the Secretariat, Mrs. Sylvie MIAILLE and Christophe LARAND who took on the position of treasurer.
Gérard Poisbelaud, deputy mayor in charge of sports affairs, partially attended this meeting and wished to show its support for the association.
This General Assembly was closed with a meal in a Spanish inn style, where the young remained numerous, were able to organize a small "Blitz" tournament (lightning)
The new team will continue in the same vein, trying to recruit a few new players and focus on competition and training.
The club's results this year :
In team competition, eight young people were hired in National 2 and finish 3rd on 8.
Same ranking for adults, and National 4.
At the individual level, Dylan Calvo, N ° 1 in Aquitaine in its category (Benjamin), qualifies for the championship of France 2017, he finished 14th among 117 participants in GONFREVILLE L’ORCHER in April 2016.
